Rise in New Home Construction Boosts Bolton Housing Market
Cardwells Estate Agents observes a notable surge in the construction of new homes across Bolton, indicative of a growing demand for high-quality residential properties. According to recent data from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, the three-month period up to June witnessed the completion of approximately 120 new dwellings, marking an increase from the 110 completed during the same period in 2022. Of these, 90 were erected by private developers, with the remaining units financed by housing associations, signalling a collaborative effort to meet the housing needs of the community.
Insights from Cardwells Estate Agents
Managing Director of Cardwells Estate Agents, Andrew Cardwell, expresses satisfaction at the uptick in new home developments, emphasising their positive impact on the Bolton community both presently and in the foreseeable future. He notes a discernible demand for high-quality new build homes across the town, underscoring the predominance of privately developed properties in meeting this demand. While acknowledging the benefits that private developments bring, including community enhancement and regeneration, Cardwell also highlights the persistent shortage of both privately developed and social homes in Bolton. He stresses the need for further initiatives to address this shortage, echoing concerns raised by national housing organisations regarding the inadequacy of current government targets to sufficiently meet the growing housing demand.
