Holcombe Brook is located on the hillside of Holcombe Moor less than half a mile west of Ramsbottom, and just over 5 miles north of Bury. Holcombe Brook, located at the junction between Bolton Road, Bolton Road West and Longsight Road is an associated village and they share a number of different facilities as well as the BL9 postcode.
Holcombe and Holcombe Brook boast an amazing range of properties. At the top of Holcombe Village the prospective buyer will generally find red brick terraces similar to those found in Ramsbottom, but the descent from the hill into Holcombe Brook shows a change in demographic, from the old fashioned 1900’s terraced homes to period bay fronted semi detached properties lining the wide roads towards Bury. Off the main roads, ‘60’s and ‘70’s semi and detached houses are found, grouped around ‘pockets’ of cottages reminiscent of times gone by.
The area has a number of schools including Holcombe Brook Primary School and Hazelhurst Community Primary School. As Holcombe and Holcombe Brook are only small villages there is no immediate high school or college, with most 11-16 year olds commuting into Bury for the grammar school or to either Tottington High School or Woodhey High School at Ramsbottom.
Travelling to Bury and the surrounding areas from Holcombe Brook is made easy thanks to the number of transport links within the local area. Main roads bring the commuter directly to Bury, whilst a short drive through Ramsbottom will bring you to the M66, from which Lancashire (to the north) and the M60 and M62 (to the south) are easily accessible. There is also a main road that will bring you to north eastern Bolton and provide alternative routes into Bury.
