It’s always tricky knowing when it’s the right time to put your house up for sale. Many people don’t realise that there can be a good or a bad time for this. But we are here to educate you!
As Bury estate agents that have been in the industry for over 37 years, we’ve seen a distinct trend when it comes to the changing of seasons and when it’s easier to sell a property. So if you were thinking about selling your home but you weren’t sure when to officially put it up for sale, there is no time like the present!
Is it the right time to sell your house?
Many previous studies have also shown that the most popular time to sell your home is early to mid spring, mainly around Easter. Having your home up for sale at Easter time gives any prospective buyers extra time off for viewings. All thanks to the long Bank Holiday weekend!
The clocks have gone forward an hour which also means the days stay brighter for longer, which gives you (the seller) more time to fit in viewings, and it’s the perfect way to show off your home and garden to the fullest extent. It also allows any buyers to see the potential that your house could have in the summer months and onward.
We would advise against putting your house up for sale in the summer. As Bury estate agents, we tend to see a lul in the summer months. People are more focused on other things such as going on holiday and the kids being off from school. Many buyers will have already bought their home in order to have settled in for summer.
