Cardwells Estate Agents has proudly installed a new public access defibrillator outside our Bolton town centre office on Institute Street. This life-saving equipment is available 24/7 for use by anyone in the event of a cardiac emergency.
In cases of cardiac arrest, every minute without intervention reduces the chance of survival — quick access to a defibrillator can make all the difference. This initiative supports the safety and wellbeing of everyone in the area, particularly within Bolton’s growing professional quarter and residential community.
Sarah Jones, Founder of the charity Restart The Heart, who supplied the defibrillator, said:
“Every defibrillator is a lifeline, and thanks to Andrew Cardwell and all at Cardwells Estate Agents, this one will be there when it’s needed most. Their generosity could mean the difference between life and death for someone in Bolton.”
Andrew Cardwell, Managing Director of Cardwells Estate Agents, explained:
“We’re surrounded by a wonderful mix of businesses, the Parish Church, the Quaker meeting house, shops, professional offices, and a growing number of homes, student accommodation and apartments. With the ongoing regeneration of Bolton town centre, the residential population will only continue to grow. Having a defibrillator here means our neighbours, colleagues — anyone — can have immediate access to vital emergency equipment. Although we hope it’s never needed, we’re pleased to do our bit to make our community that little bit safer.”
The defibrillator is clearly signposted, accessible at all times, and registered with the local ambulance service. Emergency call handlers can direct people to its location when needed, and its easy-to-follow instructions mean it can be used by anyone, even without prior medical training.
Restart The Heart, as well as supplying defibrillators, also provides first aid and CPR training. As part of the installation, Claire, Deana and Martin from Cardwells took part in CPR training, with photographs capturing the team learning these essential skills.
You’ll also see Sarah from Restart The Heart alongside Andrew from Cardwells in front of the new defibrillator — a welcome addition to Bolton town centre and an important resource for the community.
